ALBERT & JOCELYN

Wedding in Vatican City and reception in the Roman Countryside for Albert & Jocelyn.

18 October 2019

I have never known a couple like this ... I was really struck by the faith and the sense of union that characterizes not only the couple, but their family and their dear friends. The wedding planning began one day in the summer, it was August and Albert called me from the United States telling me what he would have liked for their big day ... and from there the planning began.
Jocelyn was studying medicine, so she was always overburdened, and so Albert and I slowly moved on to organize everything perfectly. The first time he came to Italy he was alone, and I took him to the Borgo di Tragliata where we had booked the reception ... during lunch we talked about everything, chose the details of the menu and the room set up. A few days before the wedding we returned to the Borgo and this time with the whole family. Finally I met the bride: an incredible woman, sweet and with a full smile; and I also met their families and the stories that had brought them there ... it was really very impressive.
The Church of Sant'Anna in the Vatican was the backdrop for a very heartfelt ceremony, being all of them strong believers ...the bridesmaid and best man were the pillars for a very excited couple. At the end of the mass, Albert & Jocelyn allowed themselves a small photo shoot in the heart of Rome, expertly captured by an incredible photographer: Joyce Ore Photography, the bride's sister while Fulvio Greco Films and Fabio Amicucci gave us a really rich film with emotions capable of grasping what was really important for this incredible couple: faith, love, family and friendship.

The reception took place at sunset in the ancient courtyard of the Borgo di Tragliata, set up for the occasion by my florist Antonella Cricchi. Welcome drinks, appetizers served buffet style, the band playing in the background, fairy lights to give even more magic to the atmosphere ... and here the bride and groom make their entrance among the toasts of their dear friends. The dinner alternates with the emotional speeches of the mothers of the couple, the one in love with the groom and the amusing ones of the witnesses… And after the cutting of the cake the spouses perform a traditional dance, which combines the Mexican and Peruvian customs that are part of their DNA. Obviously everything turned out to be enchanting and very engaging until I fell down the stairs while I went to fix things in the car, returning with a leg full of bleeding wounds ... and I suddenly found myself with the couple who helped me with ice and disinfectant! A decidedly alternative ending for a wedding that will always remain in my heart.
